Conversation #13

I talked to my mother last week. We had an excellent conversation. We talked about life, love, happiness, among other things. Sometimes, it is good to talk to people who are much older than you.

As a young person, I don’t know everything. Sometimes, I need some help. I go to people older than me because they know more than me. My friends laugh at me when I talk to them about my issues and then say, “I am going to talk to my mother.” They usually end up saying, “We already gave you some advice. Why do you need to talk to anyone else?”

That's the thing, older people know more than younger folk, so that’s why I get a second opinion from an older person.

My mother gave me some excellent advice during our conversation, “Baby, when you get into trouble, go to somebody you know that has gone through some things, who knows how to pray, and who won’t tell all your business. Anybody else, don’t tell them a thing.”

Mama knows some things.
